Project 2

Faust
The Jezek and Cizeck Theatre Group
August 15-19, 2007
Director: Jakub Capka

Faust is a common play in the Prague theatre scene, but the 2007 production by the Jezek and Cizeck Theatre Group was very unconventional. Not only was the entire production in a found space, a disused quarry, but half the cast was made up of homeless people. The production also used video clips, projections and live music from a local indie rock band.

Faust
The Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre
October 17-November 17, 1990
Director: Vit Horejs
As I said before Faust is not something that isn't underdone in the Czechoslovakian world. This production uses a combination of puppets and humans. This creates an interesting interaction between real people and Marionettes.

The Bacchae
Screeming Weenies Productions
January, 2005
Director: Ilena Lee Cramer. Writer: Euripedes
Never has Euripides's classic tale of the Bacchae been classified as an electronic opera... not until now that is! Not only was this production in the room above a bakery, it had it's own DJ! It was considered more background entertainment for the party that took place than an actual play.
Man Bites Dog Theater
September 21-October 7, 2006
Director: Jay O'berski Writer: Antov Chekhov
Cherry Orchard is a classic piece by Anton Chekhov about an aristocratic russian family. This Production uses an all black cast. This can completely change the play and give it an entirely new meaning.

Romeo and Juliet
TBTB
2008
Writer: William Shakespeare
This particular production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is portrayed by blind actors. This is an interesting take for any classical piece to do. For instance, how do Romeo and Juliet see eachother from across the room if they're blind?
